Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a licensed or license-eligible clinician for psychosocial assessments and psychotherapy within the Psychological Services department. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to support patients and families, providing diagnostic and treatment services across multiple modalities.

The role requires flexibility to cover clinical needs across two hospitals and may include staff education and supervision as part of program support.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in counseling services is required.
  • Preferred: 1-2 years with diverse patient populations.
  • Current licensure in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or psychology; provisional license accepted with degree requirements completed and within 120 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical diagnostic and treatment services (individual, group, family) and psychosocial assessments.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Travel between two hospitals (30 minutes apart) as needed and provide program consultation, staff education, and supervision/training.

Job Description

Licensed, or license-eligible clinician with experience providing clinical diagnostic and treatment services which can include individual, group, family, and health and behavior interventions. The clinician will conduct a variety of psychosocial assessments and provide care for patients through therapeutic use of self and/or the patient care/problem solving process to assist the patient and family to achieve basic healthcare goals. The clinician is a member of an interdisciplinary team that is responsible for working collaboratively with providers, nurses, leadership and other team members to ensure development and implementation of appropriate standards. May be asked to provide clinical coverage in other areas of the hospital, consistent with training and experience guidelines and needs to have flexibility in traveling between two hospitals 30 minutes apart. As need is derived by the department, the clinician may be asked to provide program consultation, staff education, and/or supervision and training.

Education
  • Required: Masters Degree in a related field of counseling services
Experience
  • Preferred: 1-2 yrs. experience with wide variety of patient populations
Skills
  • Ability to work within scope of practice to help patient achieve highest level of quality possible for psychological well-being
  • Knowledge of community resources to help meet patient needs
  • Ability to work independently & collaboratively in teams
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Required: Current Licensure as a Social Worker [LCSW or LMSW], Licensed Professional Counselor [LPC], Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Psychologist [PhD or PsyD] or application for provisional license with completed degree requirements of the previous. Provisional license must be obtained within 120 days of employment.
