Job summary

Tueller Counseling Inc. is seeking a Licensed Counselor – Play Therapy Specialist in Idaho Falls. You will collaborate with clients and families, deliver evidence-based play therapy, and document progress per individualized treatment plans.

The role requires licensure from the listed boards and a background check, with preference for RPT credentials. The position offers clinical collaboration, supervision, and opportunities for specialty certification, along with full-time benefits including

Qualifications

• Must be one of the following: licensed psychologist, licensed psychologist extender, licensed MSW, licensed LCSW, licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, licensed Professional Counselor, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
• Be able to pass an enhanced background check
• Preferred candidate is a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), RPT-Supervisor (RPT-S), or actively working toward certification under an approved supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Working from a client’s Individualized Treatment Plan, counsel individuals, couples, and families as assigned using evidence-based treatment techniques.
• Complete Comprehensive Diagnoses for clients.
• Complete required assessments for qualifying clients.
• Determine objectives and tasks for clients; develop Psychotherapy treatment plan with client and/or parent/guardian.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings.
• Document and submit all clinical progress notes by the following Sunday night at 11:59 PM.
• Review counseling clients’ psychotherapy plan every 90, 180, & 270 days.
• Perform annual renewals for assigned clients and submit applicable documentation within the appropriate timeframe.
• Comply with any Insurance Carrier requirements to treat.
• Communicate pertinent treatment information to client, family, multidisciplinary team, and supervisor(s).
• Report abuse as needed (see Tueller Counseling Services Policy and Procedure #320).
• Maintain all required documentation for employee file including a current enhanced background check and licensure.

Counselors seek to; improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; promote behavior change; and provide accurate documentation of efforts. Deliver evidence-based play therapy interventions, tailored to each child's developmental needs.
