Tueller Counseling in Idaho Falls seeks a Licensed Counselor – Play Therapy Specialist to work with children and families, delivering evidence-based play therapy tailored to developmental needs.

Responsibilities include creating treatment plans, completing diagnoses and assessments, documenting progress, and collaborating with families while adhering to clinical and insurance policies.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active licensed counseling credential in Idaho (e.g., Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, LCSW, or equivalent).
• Experience with play therapy concepts and client-centered approaches preferred.
• Be able to pass an enhanced background check and maintain licensure current.

Responsibilities

• Counsel individuals, couples, and families using evidence-based play therapy.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans and psychotherapy goals.
• Complete comprehensive client diagnoses and required assessments.
• Document progress notes weekly and report to supervisor as required.
• Ensure compliance with insurance and clinical policies.

Title: Licensed Counselor – Play Therapy Specialist

Purpose: Collaborate with client and family to identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil. Counselors seek to; improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; promote behavior change; and provide accurate documentation of efforts. Deliver evidence-based play therapy interventions, tailored to each child's developmental needs.

Qualifications:

• Must be one of the following: licensed psychologist, licensed psychologist extender, licensed MSW, licensed LCSW, licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, licensed Professional Counselor, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
• Be able to pass an enhanced background check
• Preferred candidate is a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), RPT-Supervisor (RPT-S), or actively working toward certification under an approved supervisor.

Requirements

Job functions, responsibilities and authority:

• Working from a client’s Individualized Treatment Plan, counsel individuals, couples, and families as assigned using evidence-based treatment techniques.
• Complete Comprehensive Diagnoses for clients.
• Complete required assessments for qualifying clients.
• Along with client and/or parent/guardian, determine objectives and tasks for clients; develop Psychotherapy treatment plan.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings.
• Document and submit all clinical progress notes by the following Sunday night at 11:59 PM.
• Review counseling clients’ psychotherapy plan every 90, 180, & 270 days.
• Perform annual renewals for assigned clients and submit applicable documentation within the appropriate timeframe.
• Comply with any Insurance Carrier requirements to treat.
• Communicate pertinent treatment information to client, family, multidisciplinary team, and supervisor(s).
• Report abuse as needed (see Tueller Counseling Services Policy and Procedure #320)
• Maintain all required documentation for employee file including a current enhanced background check and licensure.
