Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College invites applications for a Counselor – PBI (Grant-Funded) position. The counselor will provide academic, career, and personal counseling to program participants under the Project M.O.S.T. grant, reporting to the Project Director.

This is a full-time, temporary role ending September 30, 2027. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or Social Work, with experience in higher education or student support services; a Master’s is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred) in Education, Counseling, or Social Work.
• Experience in higher education and/or similar student support services is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive relationships with program participants through meetings and counseling sessions.
• Facilitate program activities such as orientation sessions and workshops.
• Assist in recruitment and assessment of students.
• Maintain accurate, complete, up-to-date student records.
• Compile reports as requested by the Project Director.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
