LSSI is hiring a full-time Substance Use Counselor, Tuesday through Friday. Will provide individual, group, and family counseling services for clients experiencing SUDs and substance-related issues in a clinical and culturally sensitive manner for our Substance Use Outpatient treatment program.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide a continuum of counseling services to adults with alcohol/drug related conditions and/or problems using a variety of therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices.
  • Coordinate and facilitate group and individual counseling sessions (ASAM Levels 0.5, I, II.1, continuing care, DUI) and psychoeducation.
  • Responsible for an assigned caseload and the associated documentation, including treatment planning, continuing care, case management, and discharge plans; monitors progress and participants' response to treatment.
  • Communicate with referral sources to provide status reports and completion/discharge documentation.
  • Complete evaluations.
  • Maintain weekly performance productivity.
  • Complete all clinical records and documentation accurately in a timely manner and in compliance with state, federal, and agency standards; provide appropriate documentation of all pertinent information obtained in interviews, consultation with other healthcare professionals, referrals, contacts, and supportive services provided to each patient.
  • Assist program team with input during weekly staff meetings and covering services when other clinical staff are absent. Flexibility intake team by completing assessments (biopsychosocial).
  • Maintain professional certification or licensure and pursue internal and/or external training and development opportunities.
  • Communicate with supervisor, treatment team, and collateral agencies regarding client needs and services.
  • Be familiar with all emergency procedures.
  • Perform other related tasks as needed or assigned by supervisor.
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field strongly preferred but not required.
  • Professional certification or licensure (LSW, LCSW, LCPC, or CADC) within one year of hire date.
  • Experience in substance use treatment field preferred.
  • Ability to adhere to professional standards of ethics.
  • Annual TB test required.
  • Background check required.
  • Experience using Zoom or other telehealth platforms.
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and PC/computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office--Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) along with other related software.
