Job description

FULLTIME FAMILY BASED COUNSELOR, LICENSURE CANDIDATE OR THERAPIST – TODD COUNTY (Bilingual Spanish Preferred)

Salary:

  • Counselor: $50k-$52k+ (DOE)
  • Licensure Candidate: $60-$62k (DOE)
  • Licensed Therapist: $73k-$74k or more with good experience

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Serving in a “Circle of Courage” community with 4 core Values of Belonging, Mastery, Independence, and Generosity.
  • Reaching out with mental health services to children who are at-risk and their families in a welcoming Early Childhood Day Treatment environment.
  • Connecting with other agencies (‘customers’) who are working with the child.
  • Scheduling services to help the family and child, often during Day Treatment hours, including some after school hours and evenings.
  • Documenting case notes and billable hours as required.
  • Providing 109 client hours per month out of the 173 working hours available in a month.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Counselor Level:

  • Fluency in a non-English language of the ethnic group to which at least 50% of clients belong, completion of 40 hours of training in mental health service delivery, and weekly clinical supervision until 2,000 hours of supervised experience is met.
  • High School Diploma with 4,000 hours of working with children and families under direct clinical supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree with 2,000 hours of working with children and families under direct supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or related field with a practicum or internship focused on behavioral sciences.
  • Master's degree in a human services related field.

Licensure Candidate:

  • Completed master's degree and working toward licensure (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, or LP). Licensure supervision is provided.

Licensed Therapist:

  • Fully Licensed Mental Health Professional (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, or LP).

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with children and families experiencing mental health issues in a direct care role.
  • Familiarity with a variety of counseling techniques and theories to aid in the care and treatment of individuals with mental health needs.
