Job summary

SCO Family of Services in New York, NY is seeking a devoted youth residential staff member to supervise and support adolescents in a structured living environment. You will oversee daily routines, safety, hygiene, meals, and behavior management to promote well-being.

Responsibilities include leading group activities, coordinating educational and vocational supports, and attending to health and mental health needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Three years’ experience working with adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Ensures residents are provided with quality care in health, safety, clothing, hygiene, and meals.
• Establishes ADL routines including house jobs, room chores, wake-ups, and lights-out, laundry, cooking, etc.
• Supervises individual and group activities such as trips, sporting events, crafts, etc. Upholds all elements of behavior management system, including restriction system, negotiations, and a repertoire of confrontation techniques and responses.
• Attends to the educational/ vocational, health and mental health, etc.
• Models positive behavior at all times while confronting negative behavior.
• Commits to the mission of the program by supporting the creation of a safe, orderly, and caring environment.
• Complete field work as needed.
• Any other assigned tasks.
