Job description

Clinicians (e.g., Licensed, Licensed Eligible, LBA, BCBA)

The Counselor II/III, Supportive Housing provides counseling and crisis intervention with Permanent Support Housing (PSH) Program, based on consumer need and functional assessment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(Maximum of Eight)

  • Provide comprehensive assessment in order to identify and diagnose mental health/substance abuse disorders and the overall functional capacity of the served individual; integrate input from collateral contacts; make referrals, as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; establish measurable goals and objectives, which are based upon served individual needs identified during assessment. Identify and implement appropriate interventions through treatment modalities such as individual, group, family, or couples therapy.
  • Provide clinical services to individuals who meet eligibility criteria, who choose the service and have identified needs for service provision in areas such as counseling, education, and development of skills to enhance community integration.
  • Engage in ongoing evaluation of clinical practice and of services rendered to served individuals, through annual re-assessments and treatment plan reviews; provide outcome measures of progress where possible.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures established by Mount Rogers CSB, Licensure, Medicaid/Medicare, and other regulatory bodies; keep records up-to-date, and adhere to confidentiality of consumer information.
  • Actively participate in meetings such as supervision, clinical staffing, business meetings, and committees as assigned; utilize these meetings for active problem solving and to enhance the PSH's team approach to decision making. Keep mandatory trainings up-to-date.
  • Provide consultation and educational services with PSH staff, Agency CS, and with other agencies or organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of mental disorders and substance abuse
  • Skills in assessment and diagnosis
  • Knowledge of counseling theories and practice utilized to treat mental illness and substance abuse
  • Knowledge of a broad range of treatment modalities and development of treatment plans
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Where applicable, knowledge of evaluation tools for psychological testing
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED

Counselor II - (Level 13) Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field that is eligibile for supervised residency towards LPC, LCSW, or LMFT; must either be completed or pending completion from an accreddited institution (KCREP required for LPC) within 3 months of contingent job offer.

Counselor III - (Level 14) Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Licensure required. (Licensed as a LPC, LMFT, or LCSW.)

Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
