Job summary

Mount Rogers Community Services Board seeks a Counselor II or III to provide counseling, case management, and crisis intervention based on consumer needs and assessments.

The position requires a Masters in Social Work or Psychology with licensure or eligibility, valid driver's license, and compliance with regulatory standards; you will develop treatment plans, coordinate services, and contribute to team efforts across supervision and committees.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment to identify mental health/substance use disorders and overall functional capacity; integrate collateral input and referrals as needed.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives based on assessment.
• Provide case management services to eligible consumers; assist with referral, monitoring, supportive counseling, education, and skill development for community integration.
• Engage in ongoing evaluation of clinical practice and services; provide outcome measures where possible.
• Meet targeted billing units per month; comply with policies and keep records up-to-date with confidentiality.
• Participate in supervision, clinical staffing meetings, and committees; keep trainings up-to-date.
• Provide consultation and educational services with Mount Rogers CSB and other agencies.

Job description

Clinicians (e.g., Licensed, Licensed Eligible, LBA, BCBA)

Counselor II or III provides counseling, case management services, and crisis intervention based on consumer need and functional assessment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide comprehensive assessment in order to identify and diagnose mental health/substance abuse disorders and the overall functional capacity of the consumer; to integrate input from collateral contacts; to make referrals, as appropriate.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; to establish measurable goals and objectives, which are based upon consumer needs identified during assessment. To identify and implement appropriate interventions through treatment modalities such as individual, group, family, or couples therapy.
• Provide case management services to consumers who meet eligibility criteria, and have identified case management needs; to provide case management activities such as referral, monitoring, supportive counseling, education, and development of skills to enhance community integration.
• Engage in ongoing evaluation of clinical practice and of services rendered to consumers, through annual re-assessments and treatment plan reviews; to provide outcome measures of progress where possible.
• Meet targeted billing units per month consistently throughout the fiscal year. These are provided in writing to each YSS and individualized to account for other duties performed consistently throughout the year. To comply with all policies and procedures established by Mount Rogers CSB, Licensure, Medicaid/Medicare, and other regulatory bodies; keep records up-to-date and adhere to confidentiality of consumer information.
• Actively participate in meetings such as supervision, clinical staffing meetings, business meetings, and committees as assigned; utilizes these meetings for active problem solving and to enhance a team approach to decision making. Keep mandatory trainings up-to-date.
• Provide consultation and educational services with Mount Rogers CSB and with other agencies or organizations.

OTHER DUTIES:

• May provide restoration services.
• Will complete other job related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Counselor II - (Level 13) Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field that is eligible for for supervised residency towards LPC, LCSW, or LMFT must either be completed or pending completion from a KCREP accredited institution within 3 months of contingent job offer.

Counselor III - (Level 14) Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Licensure required. (Licensed as a LPC, LMFT, or LCSW.)

Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
