Responsibilities include triages and intakes, accurate documentation, collaboration with supervisors and Campus Health staff, outreach activities, and providing clinical supervision to graduate trainees as required. Telehealth options may be used.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in counseling or related field.
  • Licensed to function autonomously in KY.
  • Eligible to provide clinical supervision to graduate trainees in compliance with licensing board requirements.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or counseling setting, including a college counseling center or community agency.

Responsibilities

  • Provides triages/intakes.

  • Prepares accurate and timely patient records and reports.
  • Consults with supervisors, Campus Health providers, and external agencies when needed.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Care and Conducts staff as necessary.
  • Provides clinical supervision to graduate student trainees as required.
  • Represents the Counseling Center on University and divisional committees.
  • Participates in outreach initiatives and resource fairs.

The Counselor provides licensed therapeutic services for student patients including individual, group, and couples counseling and crisis intervention.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides triages/intakesProvides individual, group, and couples counseling to students, both in-person and via a telehealth platformPrepares accurate and timely patient records, evaluations, and reports and completes documentation in accordance with professional and ethical standardsConsults and collaborates with supervisors and peers, Campus Health providers, Care and Conducts staff as necessary, as well as external agencies if necessaryParticipates in outreach initiatives such as resource fairs and department presentationsProvides clinical supervision to one or more graduate student trainees as required, in compliance with licensing board requirements for the positionRepresents the Counseling Center on University and divisional committeesPreferred QualificationsFour (4) years of experience in a clinical or counseling settingStrong organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience working with patients that have substance abuse issues and traumaExperience with group therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma treatmentExperience working in medical and higher education settingsWork Hours and LocationThis is a full-time, exempt position with a 37.5-hour regular workweek. The work location is at the Health Sciences Center. Additional work hours may be required based on department needs, programming, and/or scheduling.
