Hillsborough County Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School Counselor responsible for coordinating and implementing counseling services for students. This role includes academic advisement, career development, and facilitating community involvement.

Summary The Counselor, Elementary School, is responsible for coordinating and implementing the school’s counseling services program to include academic advisement and counseling, developmental guidance, career development, and parent/community involvement.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Florida Professional Educator Certificate: Guidance and Counseling (Grades PK-12) is required.
Language Skills: Reads, analyzes, and interprets all kinds of documents; writes speeches and effectively presents to managers, the public, and school board.
Mathematical Skills: Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computes rate, ratio, and percent and draws and interprets bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office.
Physical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing. Lifting Demands: Up to 10 pounds. Reaching Activities: Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead.
Environmental Conditions: Noise intensity: 3, moderate.
Other Requirements: This position requires traveling to various school sites, work locations and/or community organizations throughout the district.
