Job Description:

Provides direct therapy and counseling services to child victims, siblings of victims, and non-offending caregivers. Offers crisis intervention to families.

Coordinates intakes, evaluations, & interviews with children and family members to obtain psychosocial information for clinical evaluations. Develops and maintains relationships with staff and other agencies to facilitate coordination of needed services and support through advocacy, referral, and follow-up.

Develops behaviorally specific treatment plans for all family members involved in the program. Completes safety planning to prevent continued or future abuse.

Attends case staffing and coordinates client services and community referrals. Maintains client records, including documentation and tracking of treatment goals and objectives, in accordance with program requirements. Conducts community training sessions as assigned.

Provides depositions and court testimony as required.

Salary range: $62,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on education and experience.

Qualifications:

Professionals qualified to provide psychosocial counseling include:

  • A social worker with a master's degree or Ph.D. in social work from an accredited school.
  • A registered nurse with specialized counseling training as a clinical nurse specialist or certified psychiatric nurse.
  • A licensed professional authorized to provide clinical, counseling, and psychotherapy services by the Florida Department of Health.
  • A counselor with a master's degree in counseling.
  • A psychologist with a master's or Ph.D. in psychology.
  • A master's or doctoral graduate student intern from an accredited school, under supervision of a licensed practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a clinical social worker in Florida.
  • Psychologist with a master's or Ph.D. in psychology.
  • Experience in trauma-focused care and planning.
  • Experience using standardized assessment tools.
  • At least one year of clinical counseling experience, including six months in treatment of sexually abused children and families.
Additional Information:

This is a time-limited position, dependent on funding sources and other circumstances.
