Pay Grade: 43

Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, or a closely related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Processes intake data for new cases and arranges conference or group sessions.
  • Assists in preparation of program files and individual histories.
  • Works with various related agencies in exchange of information, as required.
  • Leads group discussions to accommodate the needs of the group, as required.
  • Lectures to therapy or counseling groups and monitors discussions.
  • Utilizes recreational, physical education, and other therapeutic activities counseling aids, as required.
  • Prepares evaluations and reports, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.
KSAs
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of counseling and application.
  • Ability to establish and maintain meaningful rapport with participants.
  • Knowledge of the legal methodology in processing cases.
  • Ability to write meaningful reports.
  • Ability to gather and interpret case histories.
  • Ability to work with various support agencies in exchange of meaningful activities relevant to patient needs.
Special Requirements
  • Must pass a physical examination.
  • Must be available for shift and weekend work as required.
  • Must be able to work in a jail-secured environment.
