Job summary

Outreach Development Corp. is seeking an Adolescent Counselor in Bellport, NY to deliver long‑term supervision and clinical services to adolescents with substance use and co‑occurring mental health problems. You will join an interdisciplinary treatment team and coordinate care across the facility.

The role requires CASAC‑T or higher certifications, and at least 1 year of relevant experience. CASAC/CRC/LMSW/LMFT/LCSW credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience with substance abuse disorders.
• Experience with adolescents with co‑occurring mental health issues is required.
• OASAS facility experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Screen residents initially and ongoing, following unit procedures.
• Facilitate group counseling formats in a professional, ethical manner.
• Supervise clients in self-medication under supervision.
• Document incidents, emergencies and daily logs using the SAC system.
• Provide crisis interventions and follow-up documentation.
• Oversee daily house schedule and client population management.
• Lead service groups and perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

Position: Adolescent Counselor

The Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) is responsible for the delivery and implementation of long-term supervision, support and clinical services to a population of chemically dependent adolescents with co-occurring and mental health problems. The SAC serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.

• Initial and ongoing screening of resident and resident property in accordance with unit procedure.
• Facilitate group counseling formats on time and in a professional, ethical and caring manner.
• Supervise clients in self-medication (under supervision).
• Communicate all pertinent information, incidents and emergencies using the appropriate system including the SAC communication log, incident reports and 24 hour on-call supervisor.
• Provide crisis interventions and follow up including documentation of the incident, accident and/or elopement reports.
• Overall supervision and management of client population in the facilitation of the daily house schedule.
• Facilitation of service groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• CASAC-T; CASAC, CRC, LHMC, LMSW, LMFT, LCSW, or higher preferred.
• 1 year of experience working with clients with substance abuse disorders.
• 1 year of experience working with adolescents with co-occurring and mental health problems.
• 1 year of experience working in in an OASAS funded facility a plus.
