Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Counseling Specialist for the CSS program in Lowell, MA. The role involves delivering documented individual and group counseling and coordinating case management for clients with mental health and substance use challenges.

The counselor will conduct intake assessments, ensure timely documentation, and develop adaptive treatment plans with client participation, while adhering to licensing and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• LADC I or CADAC certification preferred.
• At least one year of supervised counseling experience in substance abuse or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Provide documented individual and group clinical services and case management to clients.
• Perform intake assessments and complete required documentation on time.
• Deliver quality clinical services and case management in line with Spectrum's design and regulatory standards.
• Develop, implement, and revise individual treatment plans with client participation.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when interacting with clients, staff, families, vendors and regulatory bodies.

Pay rate: $23.00-$26.00/ hour

The Counselor is responsible for:

• Providing documented individual and group clinical services and case management to clients with mental health, substance abuse, or dual diagnosis problems.
• Performing intake assessments and completing all associated documentation within required time frames.
• Providing quality clinical services and case management to assigned clients in accordance with Spectrum's clinical design and in compliance with all licensing, accreditation, and regulatory bodies.
• Developing, implementing, and revising individual treatment plans for assigned clients in established time frames with the participation of the client.
• Demonstrating a satisfactory level of interpersonal skills to interact with clients, staff, families, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a high school diploma/GED required.
• LADC I or CADAC certification preferred.
• Minimum of one-year supervised counseling experience in the substance abuse treatment or closely related field required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Must have basic ability in use of computers sufficient to utilize electronic health records.
