Job summary

Willingway in Statesboro, Georgia is seeking a Counselor II to provide treatment and support to individuals recovering from addictions and related behavioral issues. You will participate in treatment planning, conduct group and family sessions, and prepare individualized care plans.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in social or health services field, with 2+ years in counseling, or a Master's degree with 1+ year experience; CPR/de-escalation training may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in social or health services field or equivalent required.
• Alternative: bachelor's in other field + 4+ years counseling experience.
• Master's in social/health services with 1+ year professional work experience preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation certification may be required.
• Licensure or certification for counseling may be required by state.

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient treatment planning and continuum of care.
• Conducts group and/or family sessions under supervision and documents as required.
• Co-facilitates sessions and assists with modifying problem behaviors.
• Performs initial and follow-up assessments for patients.
• Prepares individual treatment plans for assigned patients.
• Ensures documentation regarding patient care and incidents is complete and clear.
• Acts as liaison between referral sources and patients; provides crisis intervention.
• Plans aftercare for assigned patients and liaises with insurance carriers as needed.
• Performs case management and evaluates referrals to other programs.
• Provides patient and family education on substance abuse/psychiatric problems.
• Conducts educational workshops within the hospital and community.

Counselor | Willingway | Statesboro, GeorgiaAbout the Job:The Counselor II provides treatment and support to assist patients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders, or other behavioral problems, assists with modifying problem behaviors; may also provide counseling services to families of clients.Roles and Responsibilities:· Participates in patient treatment planning and continuum of care.· Conducts group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required.· Co-facilitates assigned group or family sessions and assists with modifying problem behaviors.· Responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessments for patients.· Prepares individual treatment plan for each assigned patient.· Ensures all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.· Acts as a liaison between referral sources and patients.· Provides crisis intervention to patients, as needed.· Plans for aftercare for assigned patients.· Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested.· Provides case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care.· Evaluates the need of the patient and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed.· Provides patient and family education relative to substance abuse/psychiatric problems.· Conducts educational workshops both within the Hospital and in the community as required.· Serves as a liaison with self-help groups and EAP professionals.· Conducts ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the Hospital treatment programs.· Requires Bachelor's degree in social or health services field, with 2+ years exp in counseling field;· OR Bachelor's degree in other field with 4+ years in the counseling field;· OR Master's degree in social or health services field, with 1+ year professional work experience.· Degree must be from an accredited college or university.· Licensure or certification for counseling may be required by the state in which the facility operates.· CPR and de-escalation certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).· First aid may be required based on state or facility.Why Willingway?Willingway offers a comprehensive benefit plan and a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
