Role Description

The Counselor will provide individual and, when appropriate, family or group counseling services to clients, using evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address mental health and wellness needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, documenting clinical progress, and maintaining accurate and confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical standards. The Counselor will collaborate with other healthcare professionals, offer referrals when needed, and may participate in case consultations and team meetings. This is a contract role with a hybrid work arrangement, based in Atlanta, GA, with a combination of in-person sessions and some work-from-home for telehealth or documentation tasks. The Counselor is expected to manage a caseload responsibly, maintain professional boundaries, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment for all clients.

Qualifications

• Strong counseling and psychotherapy skills, with experience providing individual and, ideally, family or group therapy.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and use evidence-based interventions.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation and adhering to confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening, empathy, and clear written communication.
• Demonstrated cultural humility and ability to work respectfully with clients from diverse backgrounds and identities.
• Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
• Relevant state licensure or eligibility (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) in Georgia; supervision credentials are a plus.
• Comfort using telehealth platforms and basic digital tools to deliver services and manage documentation in a hybrid setting.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle a contract caseload and meet regulatory and practice deadlines.
• Experience in medical or integrated behavioral health settings is beneficial, as is familiarity with trauma-informed care.
