Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is recruiting a Counsellor for the Parenting Orders Program in Mackay. This maximum-term part-time role (3 days per week) runs until 30 June 2027, based in Mackay with some evening work. Remuneration is $53.43 per hour plus Super and NFP Salary Packaging.

You will provide assessment, counselling and case management to parents, support children and families via referrals, and conduct risk assessments as part of a client-centred service delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor Level Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Eligible for membership with APS; AASW or PACFA.
• Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
• Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card).
• Willingness to undergo a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Providing assessment, counselling, psychoeducation, referrals, case management to parents.
• Providing support to children and families through referrals and case collaboration.
• Complete risk assessments and safety planning with people experiencing domestic and family violence as part of the case management process.
