Job summary

Mindplace Sussex, part of the Bupa UK network, is seeking a Counsellor/Psychotherapist to provide high-quality counselling to Bupa customers, both face-to-face and remote, within a multidisciplinary team. The role includes independent work, daily liaison with services, and adherence to clinical guidelines.

The position offers flexible hours (minimum of 2 days per week) with sessions across weekdays and weekends, and a benefits package designed to support wellbeing and professional development.

Qualifications

  • BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist is required (Essential).
  • NCPS Accredited Registrants required (Essential).
  • UKCP Registered Psychotherapist required (Essential).
  • 3 years of full-time post-qualification counselling experience (Essential).
  • Accreditation required at time of application (Essential).

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality counselling with effective outcomes.
  • Deliver assessments and formulations to guide interventions.
  • Offer face-to-face sessions and other delivery models as needed.
  • Follow case management processes and collaborate with senior clinicians.
  • Adhere to session limits based on client benefits.
  • Provide referrals and wellbeing support as needed.
  • Deliver group psychoeducation and remote presentations.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and policies.
  • Attend regular clinical supervision and team meetings.

Part-time and full time hours available: Minimum of 2 days per week

Session Requirements
  • We can offer sessions from Monday to Friday - 08:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 20:00
  • Weekends 9:00 - 16:00
  • 4 appointments per day

Your Role

As a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, you will provide high-quality, effective, and safe counselling to Bupa customers over the short, medium, or longer term. You will work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, liaising daily with internal and external services, organisations, and safeguarding agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality counselling or brief interventions with excellent clinical outcomes.
  • Deliver comprehensive assessments and formulations to drive evidence-based interventions.
  • Offer different models of service delivery, including face to face sessions
  • Adhere to Bupa’s case management processes and collaborate with Clinical Leads and the wider therapy team.
  • Follow sessional limits based on the client’s company benefits.
  • Provide signposting or onward referrals as needed.
  • Offer ad-hoc or one-off wellbeing support and coaching.
  • Conduct one-off assessments and referral recommendations.
  • Deliver group psychoeducation, raise mental health awareness, and promote mental wellbeing through remote presentations, workshops, and training.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and Bupa’s service policies and procedures.
  • Attend regular clinical supervision and team meetings.
  • Collaborate with the operational and clinical team to improve client and employee experiences.
Qualifications
Essential
  • BACP Accredited Counsellors/Psychotherapists
  • NCPS Professional Accredited Registrants
  • UKCP Registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellors/Psychotherapists
  • 3 years of full-time post-qualification counselling experience.
  • Please note that accreditation is required at time of application***
Desirable
  • Training in incident support.
  • Corporate experience and business understanding.
