The Counseling and Psychological Services therapist at UNC is responsible for providing vital individual and group therapy, supervision, and outreach programming within a diverse health service environment. This role plays a crucial part in the mental health education of students, emphasizing services for underrepresented populations on campus.
The Counseling and Psychological Services therapist is a professional, licensed or license eligible to practice psychology or social work in the State of North Carolina, and is expected to carry out this practice in an ethical and informed manner within the administrative framework of Campus Health Services. The licensed psychologist or social worker provides individual and group therapy and assessment; supervision and training of practicum students and interns; outreach programming; and crisis intervention, including daytime and evening weekend on-call services. Consultation with members of the University community and participation in counseling related campus committees is also encouraged and expected. The therapist plays an important role in health education, especially through individual contacts with student clientele.
This position will be a part of our Multicultural Health Program and will have a special focus on outreach programming and focusing on expanding services to underrepresented populations on campus.
