Job Details

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and guidance on issues related to pensions, benefits, and investments.
• Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents and contracts related to pension plans, employee benefits, and investment strategies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to pensions, benefits, and investments.
• Represent the organization in legal proceedings, including class action lawsuits.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support decision-making and strategy development.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
• Provide training and education to employees on legal issues related to pensions, benefits, and investments.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization's pension plans, benefits, and investments.
  
  

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal role with a focus on pensions, benefits, and investments.
• In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations related to pensions, benefits, and investments.
• Experience with CEQA, NEPA, Environment, Transportation, Utilities.
• Proven experience in handling class action lawsuits.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Membership in good standing with a State Bar.
