Job summary

Mosaic is seeking an experienced Counsel to join the Office of the Chief Legal Officer. You will be a hands-on partner, helping manage risk, regulatory compliance, and transactional work across a multi-state Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) and IDD programs.

You will collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and External Affairs to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance for non-legal teams and to support governance and corporate transactions.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active state bar membership; eligible for Nebraska in-house admission.
5+ years of relevant legal experience (in-house or law firm).
Healthcare regulatory/compliance experience in Medicaid/Medicare or related programs.

Responsibilities

Serve as a key legal partner to operations, compliance, external affairs, and risk teams on regulatory questions and claims management.
Partner with Compliance and Risk on federal and state regulatory matters, including HIPAA/HITECH and Medicaid/HCBS rules.
Draft, redline, and negotiate healthcare operations agreements and vendor contracts.
Oversee claims and litigation with outside counsel, insurance, and risk management as applicable.
Support governance filings, board resolutions, meeting minutes, and governance documentation.
Support legal due diligence and strategic corporate transactions.
Translate complex legal concepts into practical advice for non-legal operators and cross-functional teams.
