Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC invites applications for a Research Technician in the Crop and Soil Sciences Department. You will support cotton genetics and breeding research across field, greenhouse, growth chamber, and laboratory environments, working with faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient research activities.

As a member of the Cotton Genetics and Breeding Lab, you will help develop and evaluate improved cotton breeding

Responsibilities

• Research Operations & Technical Support: Prepare field plots, greenhouse materials, and controlled-environment facilities for planting, phenotyping, harvesting, and trials.
• Data Management & Research Compliance: Maintain electronic records, manage documentation related to chemical storage and equipment use, ensure EH & S compliance.
• Equipment, Facilities & Resource Management: Operate and troubleshoot field equipment, lab instruments, irrigation tools, and vehicles; manage seed stocks and inventories.
• Collaboration & Field Operations: Travel to research stations for setup, planting, data collection, and coordinating daily activities with researchers and staff.
