Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist to provide direct care and supervision for youth in a cottage setting. You will model social, academic, and independent living skills while relieving Cottage Parents and managing daily cottage operations.

Qualifications

• Must establish warm, consistent relationships with youth and families.
• Knowledge of group dynamics and child development.
• Guidance and documentation responsibilities for cottage records and expenditures.
• Appreciation of spiritual values and ability to model morals for youth.
• Team player with ability to work with others to develop youth and families.
• Ability to work under pressure and in crisis situations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Florida Driver License with safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to youth in cottage setting.
• Relieve Cottage Parents during time off and manage daily cottage operations.
• Model social, academic, and independent living skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow agency policies around youth and staff.
• Keep team informed of youth and cottage activities and concerns.
• Complete required paperwork (daily notes, MAR, incident reports, timesheets).
• Engage youth through cottage crew, work programs, education, chapel, and recreation.
• Demonstrate dependability and flexibility to support other staff as needed.
