Qualifications

Job description

Cottage Therapist - Children's Residential Center

A critical part of the clinical team in our Children's Residential Center, the Cottage Therapist provides individual and group therapy, as well as crisis counseling, to clients in assigned cottage/caseload. The Cottage Therapist helps to lead the clinical team within the cottage and oversees therapeutic services.

Requirements :

  • Master's degree in Social Work, or equivalent. Licensure required (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC).
  • Therapeutic experience working with children required; experience in residential treatment preferred.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license, with driving record that is insurable on agency policy; ability to legally and safely drive a vehicle.
  • Working understanding of trauma therapy and TBRI (Trust-based Relational Interventions) strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to maintain compliance/certification with CCHO's requirements for using physical restraints (SCM: Safe Crisis Management), including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training. Physical ability to respond to crisis.

Responsibilities :

  • TEAM first.
  • Assesses client's therapeutic needs/strengths and establishes therapeutic relationship while utilizing interventions that will enhance overall functioning.
  • Facilitates individual and group sessions, assisting clients to understand and overcome past trauma and find hope and insight into their present and future dreams/goals.
  • Completes appropriate documentation/paperwork according to CCHO standards and deadline.
  • Facilitates case management as needed.
  • Participates in agency and professional training and collaboration with clinical team and other CRC positions. Provides training to cottage staff, as needed.

This position is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and drug test, satisfactory reference checks, as well as the completion of a satisfactory Department of Justice National Sex Offender search and Ohio Alleged Perpetrator Search, as required by our licensing agency.
