Job summary

Western State Hospital in Staunton, VA is seeking a COTA Therapy Assistant to implement psychosocial programs designed to promote and maintain health, reinforce, restore and enhance task performance.

Join a hospital known for psychosocial rehabilitation programs, working with licensed therapists in a patient-centered, multidisciplinary setting and supervising OTA/OT students as part of your role.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
• Experience in patient care.
• Licensed by the Virginia Board.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and co-facilitates up to 4 hours of psychosocial rehabilitation per day across learning centers.
• Ensures interventions match clients' ages, interests, and abilities based on assessments.
• Completes assigned documentation per facility guidelines.
• Attends a minimum of 6 PSR staff development sessions per year.
• Conducts at least one satisfaction survey of consumers served in group per quarter.
• Supervises and/or co-supervises level 1 and level 2 OTA and OT students.
