Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team in Buffalo, NY. You will implement therapy plans under OT supervision to help residents regain independence.

Applicants should graduate from an accredited OTA program and hold a NY license; SNF/geriatric experience is preferred. We offer a $3,000 sign-on bonus, comprehensive benefits, and strong mentorship and support.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
Current New York State OTA license.
Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new grads with relevant experience may apply.

Responsibilities

Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist
Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members
Current evidence-based practices consistent with the standards and recommendations of the American Occupational Therapy Association
