Job summary

Modestohcc is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support residents in a skilled nursing environment. The COTA will assist the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, administer therapeutic activities, and monitor progress.

Responsibilities include educating residents and families, maintaining a safe therapy space, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for residents.
  • Administer therapeutic activities and exercises as prescribed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Monitor and document residents' progress and report any changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs and adaptive techniques.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and facility policies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to residents.
