Job summary

Alta-Heights-Post-Acute is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the Occupational Therapist in resident care and program implementation in a Tennessee facility.

You will document care, assist with therapy goals, and educate residents and families while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The role involves collaboration with nursing, physicians, and the rehab team in a supportive, community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state; ongoing CE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation per facility and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment with infection control protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings as needed.
• Assist Nursing with Restorative Aide training.
• Communicate with supervising OT for updates to physicians and staff.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff as needed.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on goals, home exercise and fall prevention.
• Recommend durable medical equipment as appropriate to support independence in ADLs.
