Job summary

Weslaco Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Ernest Health, is seeking a PRN COTA in Weslaco, Texas. The role supports rehabilitative care for patients with strokes and orthopedic/neurological injuries in an inpatient setting.

Bilingual English/Spanish service helps serve a diverse community. Responsibilities include assisting with therapy programs under an occupational therapist, documenting progress, and maintaining high standards of safety and confidentiality in a patient-centered

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a COTA required per state guidelines.
• Current Basic Life Support/CPR card required.
• One year of direct patient care experience in a rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of an occupational therapist, provides rehabilitative services to individuals with physical impairments.
• Monitors the patient's program and records patient’s progress for the occupational therapist.
• Integrates the hospital’s mission and 'Guiding Principles' into daily practice.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Current licensure as a COTA required per state guidelines.
• Current Basic Life Support/CPR card required.
• One year of direct patient care experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.
