Job summary

Kern River Transitional Care Center in California is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. This role works under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide skilled treatment that helps residents improve independence, safety, mobility, and participation in daily activities.

Salary is $50.00–$52.00 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• California OTA license active and in good standing.
• Current CPR certification, if required by licensure or facility policy.
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or post-acute care preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic documentation and healthcare software.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of the licensed therapist.
• Follow established plans of care and report resident progress and changes.
• Document clinically accurate records in a timely, compliant manner.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment with infection control and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation professionals.
• Educate residents and families on goals, home programs, and safety.
• Assist with adaptive equipment and devices to improve independence.
