An established industry player seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join their team in a supportive environment. Description
Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board. Treat patients per the physician treatment plan. Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participate in in-service training programs for other staff in the facility. Record evaluations, treatment notes, progress notes, recertification documentation, per Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental and third-party payer requirements. Record treatment changes per policy and procedures. Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services. Participate in discharge planning. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Report any problems with department equipment to ensure it is maintained in good working order. Maintain positive, effective, and appropriate relationships with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
This position is not supervisory.
Requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, and exerting force (up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly). Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Good vision, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, with the ability to adjust focus.
Work typically occurs in a low to moderate noise environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
