Job summary

Cortica – Neurodevelopmental is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join a multidisciplinary care team in California. You will support pediatric therapies, promote independence in daily living, and collaborate with staff and families to implement targeted activities and data-driven goals.

The role requires a CA OTA license and 1 year of pediatrics or autism experience, with emphasis on HIPAA compliance and proficient EMR/MS Office use.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of pediatrics or autism experience.
  • Ability to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations.
  • Comfort using EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient information.

Responsibilities

  • Promote independence in activities of daily living through problem solving and adaptations.
  • Observe and suggest positioning techniques to boost participation and function.
  • Collaborate with staff in team meetings to share information and plan care.
  • Assist in implementing and tracking the therapeutic program prescribed by the OT.
  • Collect data and help set new goals based on analysis.
  • Support families and colleagues to plan effective client programs.
  • Assist with data handling and documentation; adhere to safety and mobility guidelines.

What will you do?

  • Promote independence in activities of daily living (including dressing and feeding) through problem solving, suggesting adaptations and observation of the student
  • Observe, problem solve and suggest positioning techniques to enhance educational participation and maximize function
  • Consult and assist staff through gathering and sharing information at team meetings
  • Utilize task analysis to suggest techniques to the team regarding feeding, activities of daily living, etc.
  • Implement the individualized/small group therapeutic program prescribed by the occupational therapist based on goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents in order to share information and expertise to plan and implement effective client programs
  • Assist occupational therapist in determining extent to which goals and objectives are being met by collecting and maintaining data on individual client goals
  • Assist therapist in formulating new goals based on data analysis
  • In this role you are occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Team members must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • You are skilled at using software and systems including electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products.

The base pay range for this opening is $38.14 to $47.68. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
