Job summary

Cortica is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join its growing multi-disciplinary team in California. We are a healthcare company dedicated to advancing effective treatments for children with neurodevelopmental differences and helping families access life-changing care.

You will promote independence in daily living, support educational participation, and collaborate with staff and families. A California OT Assistant license is required, with pediatrics experience preferred.

Qualifications

• California OT Assistant License required.
• 1 year pediatrics or autism experience preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote independence in activities of daily living for students.
• Observe and suggest positioning techniques to enhance participation and function.
• Consult with staff by sharing information at team meetings.
• Use task analysis to suggest techniques for feeding and ADLs.
• Implement individualized/small group therapy programs prescribed by the OT.
• Collaborate with colleagues and parents to plan and implement client programs.
• Assist OT in measuring progress by collecting data on goals.
• Assist therapist in formulating new goals based on data analysis.
• Support required physical activities and mobility as needed (stand, walk, sit, etc.).
• Assist with lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds when necessary.

What will you do?

• Promote independence in activities of daily living (including dressing and feeding) through problem solving, suggesting adaptations and observation of the student
• Observe, problem solve and suggest positioning techniques to enhance educational participation and maximize function
• Consult and assist staff through gathering and sharing information at team meetings
• Utilize task analysis to suggest techniques to the team regarding feeding, activities of daily living, etc.
• Implement the individualized/small group therapeutic program prescribed by the occupational therapist based on goals and objectives
• Collaborate with colleagues and parents in order to share information and expertise to plan and implement effective client programs
• Assist occupational therapist in determining extent to which goals and objectives are being met by collecting and maintaining data on individual client goals
• Assist therapist in formulating new goals based on data analysis
• In this role you are occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Team members must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

• You have a current California Occupational Therapy Assistant License.
• You have 1-year of pediatrics or autism experience.

• You are skilled at using software and systems including electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products.
• You preferably have knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information.

The base pay range for this opening is $38.14 to $47.68. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
