Job summary

EHG is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehab team in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The COTA will implement therapeutic programs under supervision of a licensed OT and help residents regain independence.

Ideal candidate has an associate degree, VA COTA license, and preferably 1+ year SNF experience; strong communication and teamwork skills; experience with EMR a plus; on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited OT Assistant program.
• Current COTA license in VA.
• Preferred: 1+ year of SNF experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Familiarity with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments to patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Assist in evaluating and documenting patient progress and response to treatment.
• Implement individualized treatment plans based on OT goals and resident needs.
• Educate and train residents, families, and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment use.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive care planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to facility, state, and federal guidelines for patient care and therapy services.
