Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) to work in a skilled nursing facility in New York. The role requires graduation from an accredited OTA program and an active New York State license.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license.
• Experience in skilled nursing/geriatric care preferred, but new graduates with relevant experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities in line with the plan of care by the supervising OTA/OT.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor performance, provide encouragement, and document progress.
• Teach residents to use equipment to assist daily function.
• Collaborate with OT to establish rehabilitation plans.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with healthcare team.
• Adhere to evidence-based practices per AOTA standards.
