Job summary

Asheboro Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Asheboro, NC is seeking a (COTA) Occupational Therapist Assistant to support our in-house rehab team. You will work under the supervision of an OTR and provide comprehensive therapy to residents within state guidelines.

The role requires a BA or Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy, current NC license/registration, and a willingness to participate in an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by the AOTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state NC.
• SNF experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.
• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress notes with co-signature by the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill patients ethically and accurately for occupational therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior COTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, facility staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services as needed.
