Job summary

Windsor Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Windsor, NC is seeking a capable COTA to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR and within state guidelines. You will assist in patient referrals, document daily participation, ensure orders are obtained, and collaborate with the rehab team to support resident independence and safety.

Qualified candidates hold a BA or Associate in Occupational Therapy recognized by the AOTA, possess a current

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or AA in Occupational Therapy recognized by the AOTA.
• Holds current license/registration in the state (as applicable).
• SNF experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of an OTR and per state guidelines.
• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient participation and progress; obtain OTR co-signature.
• Ensure physician orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications, and discharges.
• Assist with documentation requirements as indicated by state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as directed by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill for occupational therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists' patient caseload during absences as needed.
• Supervise junior COTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services.
• Comply with facility policies and procedures.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image.
• Adhere to productivity requirements and submit productivity reports timely.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and foster positive relations with customers and staff.
• Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or regional manager.
• Adhere to HR policies re: lunch, sick and time off notifications.
