Job summary

RSU 23 is hiring for a COTA/Educational Technician III to support students with disabilities in a self-contained PreK-2 setting. The OT services are delivered under the school-based OT supervision, with the remainder of the week spent assisting as an Educational Technician III to carry over skills in the classroom.

Candidates should hold the Maine DOE Educational Technician III Authorization and the Maine DOE COTA license, along with CHRC clearance, and demonstrate strong communication,

COTA/Ed Tech III

Full-Time, PreK-2

Located a ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, Jameson Elementary School is seeking candidates for a COTA/Educational Technician III position to support students with various disabilities, including autism, in a self-contained setting. The position will be responsible for providing occupational therapy services for the students within the classrooms. This will be conducted under the supervision of the school-based OT. The remainder of the week will be spent supporting the students as an educational technician III within the same classrooms to support the carryover of skills.

The successful candidates should possess the following:

Certification Requirements

• Valid Maine DOE Educational Technician III Authorization certification
• Valid Maine DOE Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license
• Valid Maine DOE Criminal History Records Check (CHRC)

Qualifications

• Possess strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Interest in supporting students with various learning styles and needs
• Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of technology
• Willingness to participate in ongoing in-service training
• Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom
