Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join Merit Health Wesley in Mississippi.

You will provide rehabilitative services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, helping patients of all ages achieve functional goals in daily living and mobility. You will document progress, support treatment planning, and contribute to coordinated care in a compliant, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• 0–1 years of healthcare experience required (adults/geriatrics/physical disabilities).
• 1–2 years of clinical experience in an inpatient, outpatient, or skilled nursing setting preferred.

Responsabilités

• Administers OT treatment programs per plan and standards.
• Observes patient response and recommends plan modifications.
• Conducts group or individual activity-based therapy sessions.
• Documents treatments and requires co-signature by supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Maintains communication with rehab team, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers.
• Ensures treatment areas and equipment are clean, organized, and safe; reports safety concerns promptly.
• Demonstrates understanding of therapeutic precautions and age-specific care.
• Attends interdisciplinary team meetings and supports performance improvement initiatives.
• Proficient with EHR and therapy documentation systems.
