Job summary

The Menta Education Group is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support students at Menta Academy Northwest in North Park, Illinois. You will implement individualized OT services aligned with each student’s IEP and collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support progress toward daily living and academic goals.

Qualifications

• Must hold COTA certification and be licensed by IDFPR.
• Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational direction and support for students during confusion, frustration, or emotional upset.
• Develop and update IEP goals and progress reports for student caseload.
• Provide OT service minutes and carry out individual treatment plans as dictated by the IEP.
• Maintain logs updated weekly; coordinate with admin staff, teachers and related service staff.

Job description

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with The Menta Education Group, you will work with students to help them improve and develop the skills needed for day to day life and work, according to the students’ IEP’s.

Menta Academy Northwest-Machesney Park, IL

• School Hours, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mon-Fri.
• Follows a 10 Month School Calendar with paid breaks.
• Benefits & Paid Benefit TIme Off.
• Direct-Hire Permanent Employment-return school year after school year.

Responsibilities:

• Provide educational direction and support for students at times of confusion, frustration & emotional upset.
• Assist in developing Develop and update IEP goals and progress reports for student caseload.
• Provide Occupational Therapy related service minutes and carry out individual treatment plans, as dictated on the IEP.
• Maintain accurate related service logs updated weekly.Coordinate and communicate with administrative staff, teachers, and other related service staff as needed or IEP directed.

Qualifications:

• COTA Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with IDFPR(or proof of application).
• Ability to work with students with ED/BD/OHI/Autism/TBI/OHI.
