Summary:


A professional who plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates patient care activities. He/she has clinical and/or functional knowledge of the position for which they are accountable either directly or indirectly through delegation of tasks. Incumbent is accountable to the Administrative Team. Collaborates with other Clinical Associates to meet individual needs using communication and available resources to promote quality, cost effective care


Responsibilities:


  • The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant reports directly to the department manager and/or his/her designee with clinical supervision provided by a licensed occupational therapist
  • Responsible for utilization and supervision of volunteers, students, and support staff relating to the provision of occupational therapy services
  • The occupational therapist is responsible for interpretation/implementation of physician orders, provision of safe care to customers, protection of confidential information, professional communication, economic use of time/resources, and creation of a positive work/therapy environment
  • Knowledgeable of the principles and practice of occupational therapy
  • Perform the technical skills of the certified occupational therapy assistant and be competent to operate the equipment utilized in his/her professional area
  • Ability to write and speak in a professional and intelligent manner and must demonstrate supervision/management skills
  • Willing to assume additional responsibilities as requested
