Job summary

Asheboro Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center is hiring a COTA to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services under supervision, in a long-term care setting in Asheboro, NC. The role includes patient referrals, progress documentation, and interprofessional collaboration to support rehab goals.

The position emphasizes adherence to state guidelines, accurate billing, and participation in team meetings, with opportunities for professional growth within a supportive in-house rehab team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by the AOTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state NC.
• SNF experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.
• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient participation and progress with progress notes and co-signature by the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Assist with additional documentation per state guidelines as needed.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients and complete billing logs.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.

• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill patients ethically and accurately for occupational therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior COTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
• Comply with all facility policies and procedures.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image at all times.
• Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers
• Perform all other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or regional manager.
• Comply with all Facility HR policies re: lunch, overtime, sick and time off notification.
• Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
