Job summary

Asheboro Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Asheboro, NC is hiring a (COTA) Occupational Therapist Assistant to join a growing in-house rehab team under new management. You will provide comprehensive therapy services under supervision, support patient progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize resident care.

Qualifications

• Must have a BA or Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by AOTA.
• Holds current license/registration in NC.
• SNF experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive OT services under the supervision of an OTR in accordance with state guidelines.
• Assist OT in identifying suitable patients and referrals to rehab.
• Document patient participation and progress with timely progress notes and OTR co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders for treatments, re-certifications and discharges are obtained.
• Assist with other documentation and state guidelines as indicated.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as scheduled and act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients and complete billing logs for OT services.
• Cover other therapists’ caseload during absences and supervise junior COTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families and provide in-service education as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy that is recognized by the AOTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state NC.
• SNF experience preferred

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.
• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill patients ethically and accurately for occupational therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior COTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
• Comply with all facility policies and procedures.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image at all times.
• Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers
• Perform all other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or regional manager.
• Comply with all Facility HR policies re: lunch, overtime, sick and time off notification.
• Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
