Position Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings
- Support students with fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, self-care, and classroom participation skills
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families
- Assist in creating adaptive strategies to support student success
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation
California COTA Requirements
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active California Occupational Therapy Assistant License
- Current NBCOT certification
- Ability to satisfy district and state background clearance requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience
- Knowledge of special education services and IEP processes
- Experience working with sensory integration strategies
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
