Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is seeking a dedicated costume assistant on-site in Florida. The role involves preparing a large costume inventory, dressing performers, and performing sewing repairs to keep outfits in top condition.

Responsibilities include cleaning, organizing, and inventory, plus occasional stagehand duties during shows. A flexible schedule with nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Previous experience with sewing and clothing alterations required.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Good communication, organizational, and follow-up skills with Stage Managers and Supervisors.
• Prior work experience with costumes preferred.
• Flexible schedule including opening, mid- and closing shifts; nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Preset a large inventory of costumes daily based on cast schedules.
• Assist show performers with costumes before and after shows.
• Dress performers and perform light sewing repairs.
• Maintain a variety of costumes and accessories.
• Perform frequent simple hand grasping and fine manipulation work required for cabling mechanical costumes and repairing headgear.
• Hand and machine wash a large volume of costumes daily.
• Receive, sort, and put away laundry/costumes.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork as needed.
• Perform daily venue procedures including cleaning, organization, and inventory.
• In some cases, perform stagehand duties during shows.
• Perform special assignments as requested.
