Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is seeking enthusiastic ambassadors for a seasonal role in costume handling and venue support. You will assist performers, prep and organize costumes, and perform routine laundry and maintenance duties at the park.

Role requires a high school diploma, availability for varied shifts including opening/closing, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prior theater or costuming experience is preferred.

• Age 18+ is required.
• The role requires multitasking and adaptability in a fast paced environment.

What you get to do

• Assist show performers with costumes before and after shows
• Create venue documents
• Preset a large inventory of costumes daily based off cast schedules
• Perform light sewing repairs
• Hand and machine wash a large volume of costumes daily
• Perform daily venue procedures including cleaning, organization and inventory
• In some cases, perform stagehand duties during shows
• Receive, sort, and put away laundry/costumes
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork

What it takes to succeed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• Previous theater/costuming experience
• Multi-task and adapt to changes in a fast paced work environment
• Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts
• A valid state driver’s license and be able to obtain a company driver’s license

What else is important

• Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed.
• Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat.
• Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes.
• Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.
• Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.

Compensation: $12.00 PH
