Job summary

Marsh & McLennan is seeking a Cost Accountant to establish and maintain cost accounting infrastructure for a manufacturing plant. The role supports the ERP transition from Tasman to SAP and acts as a FP&A partner to key Braeside stakeholders.

The position involves monthly balance sheet and P&L reviews, budgeting, variance analysis, and ad-hoc financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities. It requires strong data manipulation and forecasting skills.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and ongoing reporting of cost accounting infrastructure for the manufacturing plant in Braeside
• Supporting the transition from the local Tasman ERP system to the Diversey SAP ERP system (currently still on legacy ICs system)
• Cost/Finance business partner for key stakeholders at Braeside production facility
• Support and insights for cost accounting reporting
• Thorough review of the balance sheet and P&L on a monthly basis
• Ad-hoc financial and accounting analysis
• Collect cost information and maintain an expenses database
• Construct data accumulation systems
• Determine fixed costs (e.g., salaries, rent and insurance)
• Plan and record variable costs (e.g., purchases of raw material and operations costs)
• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
• Prepare budgeting reports (for the company and for each department)
• Analyze and report profit margins
• Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts
• Assisting in month-end and year-end closing
• Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions
