Job summary

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to read detailed production drawings while evaluating cost-saving alternatives quickly.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in custom design-built business preferred.
• Experience in the retail industry preferred.
• Proficient in reading detailed production drawings.
• Expert knowledge of materials including metal, acrylic, wood, expanded PVC, styrene, corrugate, plastic corrugate.

Responsibilities

• Research the cost of items such as materials, transport, labor and equipment.
• Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors.
• Obtain multiple quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame.
• Communicate costs and potential value-engineered solutions back to the project management and engineering teams.
• Assess the risk levels associated with a project.
• Evaluate the pricing request and determine level of quote (ballpark or firm).
• Prepare and submit quotations and cost details for work to be done.
• Assist with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers.
• Define potential problems and suggest cost-based alternatives.
