We are currently seeking a highly motivated Cost Estimator III located in Los Angeles, CA.

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field

Required Certifications/Licenses

• Certified estimating professional credential required

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in engineering and construction projects
• Experience with complex estimate reconciliations and change order negotiations
• Experience obtaining independent estimates from vendors/contractors and negotiating costs
• Knowledge of construction processes and industry practices
• Self-starter with results-oriented focus
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively across departments
• Team-oriented and collaborative
• Accurate, timely results with customer service attitude
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience working with agencies like FAA, LADBS, LADWP, etc.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Prolog and project management systems

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review cost estimates during planning, design, and construction
• Develop detailed independent cost estimates from drawings or conceptual info
• Analyze bids and reconcile estimates with third-party data
• Lead negotiations with contractors and vendors
• Prepare material take-offs and detailed component estimates
• Review contract documents and scope changes for cost adjustments

Additional Responsibilities

• Lead change order negotiations, review claims, and document negotiations
• Coordinate with project management and engineering teams
• Prepare reports and correspondence related to estimates

Salary

• $133,000 - $140,000/year

Bonus Pay

A bonus may be granted based on individual and company performance metrics.
